Bond No 9’s Laurice Rahme Wins UN Peace Award

The event coincides with the 10th anniversary of Bond No. 9's Scent of Peace fragrance.

Laurice Rahme, president of Bond No. 9, has received the coveted Peace Award at the United Nations Women for Peace Association’s Annual Awards Luncheon. The event was held at UN headquarters on March 6, 2015.

The award was presented by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon’s wife, UNWFPA Patron Ban Soon-taek, as well as UNWFPA Board ChairMuna Rihani Al-Nasser. The award acknowledges Bond No. 9 and Ms. Rahme’s support of UNWFPA, their ambition to spread peace internationally, and their campaign to raise funds for the cause via Bond No 9’s Scent of Peace fragrance.

“Peace smells good to me,” said Ms. Rahme on receiving her and Bond No. 9’s award. Indeed, she added, “we have bottled peace,” referring to the Scent of Peace fragrance, which is now celebrating its 10th anniversary. Tthe flacon displays a dove in flight. Scent of Peace for Men launched in 2013.

So what does “peace” smell like? Bond No. 9’s Scent of Peace fragrance is a combination of grapefruit, black currant, lily and cedarwood, inspired by New York City.
